Founding Member and funder

Alberto Maria Genovese

Founding Member of the Italian Movement for Prisoners' Rights (Movimento Italiano Diritti Detenuti) • Treasury of Hands Off Cain, with responsibility for fundraising and the Internet

The Italian Movement for Prisoners' Rights (Movimento Italiano Diritti Detenuti) was started by people in prison, former prisoners and volunteers who believe in a justice able to repair and to give back.

Alberto Maria Genovese has been a Founding Member of the Movement since 16 July 2026, the date on which the association became a Third Sector Entity (Ente del Terzo Settore). Together with the Fondazione Laura e Alberto Genovese he funds its work: the Movement receives no public money and is not registered for the 5 per mille.

His contribution is purely financial. He is not a member of the Board, chaired by Giulia Troncatti, and he has no say in the legal content, which is entrusted to the scientific committee.

Better known as Alberto Genovese, he is the entrepreneur who created Facile.it (2008) and Prima Assicurazioni (2014). Arrested in 2020, he was convicted of drug dealing and sexual assault.

Since 2026 he has been part of the Treasury of Hands Off Cain (Nessuno tocchi Caino), with responsibility for fundraising and the Internet. With Hands Off Cain the Movement has visited prisons in Genoa, Palermo, Cagliari, Piacenza, Parma and Foggia.
